Music of the Spheres Tour

FRAY Studio contributed to Coldplay’s stadium world tour Music of the Spheres, using the studio’s real time and design toolkit to deliver key components of the show’s video production. The scale of the tour required visuals that could function across vast stadium environments while staying aligned with the musical, narrative and environmental themes of the production.

FRAY created all iMag looks and real time visual effects for the show using Notch. These treatments were designed to extend the energy of the performance, giving the live camera feed a distinct visual identity that shifted with the tempo and mood of each song. The real time approach allowed the visuals to respond immediately to changes on stage, helping the camera imagery feel woven into the performance rather than layered on top of it.

The environmentally focused message of the tour played an important role in shaping the pre show experience. FRAY produced an interactive Notch based game that displayed live data from the kinetic dance floors placed throughout the stadium. Audience members generated energy by dancing, and the game visualised this in real time, creating a sense of collective participation in powering the show. This interactive moment connected the audience directly to one of the tour’s core themes.

For the closing number Biutyful, FRAY created visuals in Unreal Engine that brought the alien world of Flora to life. These sequences expanded the scale of the finale and helped shift the performance into a more dreamlike and otherworldly space.

The result is a series of visual systems that support the ambition of the tour, combining real time tools and large scale design to help shape Coldplay’s expansive live world.
