Vogue World

Theatre Royal Drury Lane

FRAY Studio collaborated with Vogue, Bureau Betak, director Emily Burns and creative producer Fran Miller to create the screen design for Vogue World, the magazines annual fashion culture and philanthropy event in a West End showcase at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The event transforms the pages of the magazine into a live theatrical experience that is performed once a year and streamed to audiences worldwide. FRAY’s role was to produce a cohesive visual language that could support a wide range of musical and theatrical performances throughout the evening.

The show features appearances from leading performers as well as a major fashion celebration with looks from designers including 16Arlington, Ahluwalia, Burberry, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, Erdem, Maison Margiela and SS Daley, among many others. The visual design needed to move fluidly between these moments, providing a backdrop that felt elegant, contemporary and adaptable to the shifting rhythm of the programme.

Using Unreal Engine, FRAY created a hyper real version of Big Ben that served as a countdown to the start of the event. This set the tone for the rest of the show by grounding the evening in a recognisable London icon while presenting it in a stylised and dimensional form. In addition to this opening sequence, FRAY developed bespoke content for performances by FKA Twigs, Stormzy and Annie Lennox, and created a nightclub environment for one of the musical sections. The team also integrated material from Vogue and other contributing artists, ensuring that all screen elements maintained continuity with the overall aesthetic.

The result is a visual framework that supports the scale and glamour of the event while giving each performance a distinct sense of place, helping the evening unfold with clarity and style.
