FRAY Studio collaborated with United Creative Works and Vision Factory on Sodagreen ’s twentieth anniversary tour, a large scale production designed to celebrate two decades of music. The show presents a collection of greatest hits performed in the round, with the stage built around a giant automated LED floor supported by a series of scenic and flown elements. FRAY was responsible for creating video for twenty songs and four interludes, shaping a visual language that could adapt to the shifting emotions and rhythms of the set. The design uses the seasons as a central metaphor, reflecting different stages of the band’s career and the changing moods of their music. Each season offers its own atmosphere, palette and pace, allowing the show to move fluidly from intimate moments to expansive, high energy sequences. Since the entire stage surface is video, the movement of the LED floor becomes a defining part of the storytelling. Five large ramps built into the floor rise and fall throughout the performance, transforming the shape of the space and creating new compositions for the visuals. These moving elements are supported by a series of flown transparent screens that can be viewed from both sides. This allows layered, mist like images to build in the air around the performers, helping to create depth and softness within the in the round format. Throughout the show, live camera is integrated directly into the content. This allows filmed imagery to merge with the seasonal environments in subtle ways, giving the audience a single unified picture rather than separate layers of video. The final result is a detailed and atmospheric visual world that supports the scale of the stage while staying true to the emotional core of Sodagreen’s music.
