Liam Gallagher

Why Me? Why Not? Tour

Liam Gallagher’s 2019 to 2021 European tour brought a strong hit of 1970s punk attitude to arenas and major festivals across the continent. FRAY Studio created the IMAG effects and video content, shaping a visual identity inspired by the raw, unpolished energy of the Sex Pistols and the era’s chaotic analogue aesthetic. The aim was to give the show a sense of grit and immediacy while ensuring the visuals could translate clearly across large scale LED systems.

FRAY focused on a deliberately grungy and analogue style, using distortion, texture and imperfect imagery to capture the loud, sweaty atmosphere associated with early punk. These looks needed to feel rough and impulsive, but still crafted with enough clarity to function across a wide range of venues. The challenge was to retain the attitude of damaged VHS and blown out film while presenting it in a refined digital format.

Because the tour travelled through very different environments, from indoor arenas to outdoor festivals, the workflow had to be technically robust and adaptable. Content was designed with enough flexibility to sit comfortably within changing screen configurations, camera systems and lighting setups. This ensured that the visuals could be delivered consistently without losing the energy or intention behind the aesthetic.

The result is a visual world that amplifies the abrasive, high voltage spirit of Liam Gallagher’s performance while giving the tour a strong and distinctive identity across every stage it visited.
