Chase & Status

Drumsheds

FRAY Studio collaborated with Chase & Status on their fully sold-out 2024 UK tour, including a headline show at London’s DRUMSHEDS. Fresh from their BRIT Award win, the duo set out to create a live experience that matched the scale and energy of their performances, and FRAY was brought on to shape the visual world that supported the tour.

To expand the atmosphere of the music, FRAY created a five-part narrative film exploring the euphoria and intensity of rave culture. Rather than anchoring the story to a specific location, the film takes place in a black, undefined space that uses light, smoke and movement as its architecture. This allowed the visuals to shift rapidly, moving from vast, empty environments to hot, tightly compressed spaces that reflected the emotional range of a night out and the communal rush of a crowded dancefloor.

The tour embraced the scale of projection and ultra-wide formats, with FRAY designing content tailored to DRUMSHEDS’ 48 x 4 metre main screen as well as the different configurations across the tour. The extreme width of these canvases allowed the narrative film to open up visually, moving between cinematic wides and tightly focused frames without losing clarity or impact.

Alongside the narrative sequences, FRAY produced additional content featuring artists closely associated with Chase & Status, including Becky Hill, Stefflon Don, ArrDee, IRAH, Flowdan, Trigga and Takura. These moments were designed to integrate naturally into the flow of the set, giving each featured artist a strong visual identity while keeping the overall aesthetic cohesive.

The resulting visual environment amplified the live energy of the shows, giving the tour a cinematic scale that matched the momentum and presence of Chase & Status’ performances.
