“With the band members themselves as your guides, it feels more like an immersive autobiography than an exhibition.”

Exhibitionism covers the 53 year history of The Rolling Stones from Mick and Keith’s first meeting at Dartford Station in 1962, to their most recent music and live performances.
The exhibition is built of over 200 screens, 30 projectors, 100 speakers, 300 videos, 1000 photos and 100 songs by the Rolling Stones.
FRAY developed the content over the course of a year, in collaboration with the creative team. Together we worked through the considerable archive of Rolling Stones images, video, sounds and objects to tell the story of the band and their vast and varied past. We made four documentaries about the band. ‘The Stones on Film’, ‘The Stones on Stage’, ‘The Stones’ Music Videos’, and a final film exploring the band’s relationship to the blues, and the mutual debt the band members owe to each other.
FRAY also developed a 3D version of their famous logo and video mapped it with all its famous iterations. We created several multi-screen instillations covering the band’s early touring life, their work in the recording studio, their style and connection to the zeitgeist, and a celebration of their collaborators. We also developed two interactive iPad applications, one about the band’s process in the recording studio and one that allows you to remix eight of their songs. Finally, FRAY created sound instillations which covered their early years sharing in a flat in Edith Grove, Mick and Keith’s song writing process, and several previously unheard recordings.
